We’re back with our second annual Spring Market for Africa. Treat yourself with a visit to our fabulous Market. Gifts for Moms and others. Vintage and gently used clothing, plants, grandmothers’ baking & sewing, African baskets. Light lunch available. Free admission. All proceeds to Help Lesotho and the Stephen Lewis Foundation to support grandmothers in Africa raising their orphaned grandchildren.
OMAS SISKONA (= grandmothers together) of Kitchener-Waterloo will host an “Off the Wall” sale of two-dimensional, new and recycled art (paintings, prints, posters) in Waterloo on May 6, 2017 in support of the work in Sub-Saharan Africa of the Stephen Lewis Foundation. All proceeds from the sale will go directly to SLF’s grassroots projects which assist African grandmothers who are raising a generation of children orphaned by the AIDS pandemic.
If you have pieces of art that no longer fit on your walls but that you would like to give new life to on someone else’s walls, please get in touch with us. A volunteer will contact you to pick up the items. Thank you for your support.
This year’s RTTTT will be Grassroot Grannies’ 8th annual ride. Approximately 22 cyclists and 4 support persons will leave Kanata on Wed. Sept. 6th and cycle to Perth (day 1). Day 2 the group cycles from Perth to Metcalfe. Day 3 we cycle to Westboro, Ottawa where we end the ride. Along the way other granny and church groups feed us and in Metcalfe we are billeted overnight by a granny group.
