The Grassroots Grammas invite you to ‘Out of Africa – an Afternoon Tea’ offering stunning pieces of Kazuri jewellery for sale as well as the opportunity to sip tea or coffee beside the Little Slocan River in the company of friendly people. The Nelson Grans to Grans are hosting a Kazuri Jewellery Luncheon at the Hume Hotel. Enjoy a delicious buffet lunch followed by a fashion show of Kazuri Jewellery with clothing from Sensations Dress Shoppe and Cottons, and last but not least the opportunity to purchase the stunning hand crafted Kazuri Jewellery for yourself!
Tickets are just $20 and are available from Cottons, 390 Baker St. and Sensations, 534 Josephine St. All proceeds from this event will go towards the Stephen Lewis Foundation’s Grandmothers to Grandmothers Campaign in support of African grandmothers and the children in their care that have been orphaned by AIDS.
The Hamilton Grandmothers of Steel hosting their 5th annual Dare to Dine! It will showcase various wines, beers, and coffees for you to taste and enjoy. This event, featuring delicious African cuisine, will take place on Sunday November 17th from 11:45am-1:00pm at Glebe St. James United Church. The Capital Grannies in Ottawa invite you to attend their fall Kazuri Jewellery sale! Situated on what was once part of a coffee plantation, there is now a small workshop where ceramic jewellery is made by women in Kenya. Each bead has to be shaped, polished, fired, painted and fired again. The result is KAZURI, the Swahili word for “small and beautiful.” This year’s sale will be held on Wednesday, November 20th from 11.30 am-2.00 pm at 2017 Dunton Tower at Carleton University. A portion of the proceeds go to the Grandmothers to Grandmothers Campaign. Come get a head start on your Christmas shopping, or pick out something nice for yourself!

The Port Perry G-Moms cordially invite you to attend their African dinner! Come and learn about the projects in Africa and how the Stephen Lewis Foundation provides support. Dinner will be served at 6 p.m. and a variety of authentic African recipes will be made and served by the G-Moms. Included in the $20 ticket will be a glass of wine, appetizers, main course , dessert and coffee, door prizes, entertainment and much more. Come out, and leave with a full belly and inspired mind!

In the spirit of Valentine’s Day, Grandmothers 4 Grandmothers Prince Albert will be hosting their afternoon Sweetheart Tea on February 15. Sip on warm tea as you browse a selection of beautiful Kazuri jewellery and enjoy the songs by local band The Menfolk. It’s a perfect way to spend a cold February afternoon!

The Mountain Grannies are again hosting their popular Chili-in-a-Bowl fundraiser! A variety of bowls will be donated by local potters along with chili from local restaurants.
