“Reading aloud with kids is a magical experience that brims with love and language and imaginative discovery.” -Globe and Mail.
An intergenerational Saturday morning, featuring a story time with a local actor and one of our grandmothers, then a buffet brunch. Book displays and toy baskets for the young ones and those who love to read with them. Together, we gather to foster the delights of grandparents, parents and others reading with the children we cherish.
Please join us for a lovely lunch with guest speaker, Dr. Julie Lajoie. Dr. Lajoie will be speaking on Preventing HIV with aspirin: alternative fact or science? Researchers from the University of Manitoba and their collaborators from the University of Nairobi have been trying to develop new methods to prevent HIV infection. By using low dose anti-inflammatory like aspirin, they believe they could have an alternative for women to protect themselves against HIV infection.
Entertainment will be provided by the Chirpy Chicks and the Rooster.
