Grandmothers groups organize events to raise awareness and funds in support of community-based organizations that turning the tide on HIV&AIDS and African grandmothers and the children in their care.

The Grandmothers Campaign also has a number of fundraising initiatives that grandmothers groups Campaign-wide hold in their communities – while personalizing and customizing them in their own unique ways. Some of these events include Stride to Turn the Tide, Good Words for Africa Scrabble Benefits, cycle tours and World AIDS Day Flash Mobs. They are all stirring examples of the way grandmothers of the Campaign remember and honour the African grandmothers who are pillars of strength in their communities.
