She has lived in Canada for more than three decades and is an Assistant Professor in the Black Studies Program at Queen’s University in Kingston\, Ontario\, joint-appointed in Gender Studies and English. She is an award-winning author. We\, The Kindling is her first novel; it was long listed for the 2025 Giller Prize. \nThere is no charge for this event.
