1885: The Berlin Conference and the Scramble for Africa – Dr Olivier Courteaux

Until then limited to the coasts, the colonization of Central Africa began in earnest in the 1882. What role did the Berlin Conference plan in 1885? As it turned out, the main decision was the creation of the independent state of the Congo, but in reality it became the property of the King of the Belgians, Leopold II.
