Quilt on display @ Cedar Hills Church – Cambridge, ON

23 September 2023 @ 2:00 pm - 4:30 pm EDT

To celebrate the 20th anniversary of the founding of the Stephen Lewis Foundation, grandmothers launched a project that exemplifies the solidarity between Canadian grandmothers and their counterparts on the African continent – the Solidarity Quilt.  It represents the power and impact of women’s leadership, activism and collaboration in communities around the world.

This unique piece of women’s handiwork has been crafted by 25 groups of grandmothers in a cross-Canada quilting bee with fabric contributed by over 300 Grandmothers in Canada and sub-Saharan Africa.

Visit the quilt to admire its intricate details while it is on tour in Cambridge!
