The Story of Paul Simon’s Graceland (Online)

Dr. Mike Daley will relay the story of Paul Simon’s unique album Graceland, a milestone in worldbeat music. He will discuss the controversial process by which Simon incorporated the work of South African musicians, with live music, video clips and recordings, featuring Ladysmith Black Mambazo.
Q&A will follow.
Dr. Mike Daley holds a PhD in music from York University and has lectured at several universities and retiree learning programmes around Toronto. He is a musicologist, specializing in the history of popular music.
